I recently watched Kick Ass on Netflix. Going in, I assumed this was going to be a movie about some geek that wants to be a super hero and we would have to endure his awkward transition from dorky high school outcast into a full fledged hero. For the most part this was right. The movie progresses exactly as one might assume for this type of film. Then the movie took a very hard turn when two new characters were introduced. Hit Girl and Big Daddy. They were also dressed as super heroes and it becomes quickly evident that they have much more skill and experience in crime fighting. The character of Hit Girl however is obviously the most controversial character at about 12 years of age using the sort of profanity the most hard core comedians wouldn't even touch. This is only outdone by her amazing fight sequences. All in all, I got a whole lot more than I had expected and I enjoyed this movie.
